When I met Paul

Jean-Claude Mas, born in Languedoc's winemaking backdrop, discovered his passion for wine at 3 when he ventured to his grandfather's cellar during harvest. Despite studying economics and advertising, he pursued wine as a hobby across the globe, creating wine clubs, import companies, and consulate roles. He briefly raced cars and motorcycles before dedicating himself to wine. His pivotal encounter with Italian winemaker Giorgio Grai in 1992 inspired him to master the art of blending. In the mid-1990s, he began crafting family wines at Nicole Estate. A pioneer in the New Languedoc, he aims to restore its ancient winemaking legacy.
