Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting Notes:
Sauvignon Blanc is all about fresh tropical fruit flavours with mouth-watering crisp acidity. The Loose Moose couldn't think of anywhere better than the north-east corner of New Zealand's South Island -Marlborough. Loads of sun, cool nights, the low autumn rain and free-draining soils make Marlborough THE Sauvignon Blanc capital. This bottle doesn't disappoint, giving you fresh Gooseberry notes that literally zing off the tongue.

Vinification: 
Primarily picked off two vineyards located in the upper Awatere Valley and the Central Wairau Plains. A small amount was also picked from a prime site in the Ben Morven Valley.

Stony, free-draining soils with varying amounts of alluvial material characterize these vineyards and coupled with modest yields and open canopies, produced fruit with great intensity of flavour. The fruit was harvested over five days from the end of March, transported to the winery where it was gently pressed and cold settled, then racked and inoculated with a selection of aromatic yeast. Cool-fermented over an extended period in stainless steel tanks to retain Marlborough’s classic vibrancy of fruit, the wine was then rested on light lees for three months before being blended and bottled.
